Nathan Barr, a classically trained cellist from New York, arrived in Los Angeles in 1997 landing his first job with Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer. Nathan has been involved with numerous Zimmer projects including As Good As It Gets (Jim Brooks/Sony,) Prince Of Egypt (Dreamworks Animation,) and The Thin Red Line (Terrence Malick/Warner Bros.) In the summer of 1998 Nathan scored his first feature film the romantic comedy entitled Hairshirt which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, the film is directed by Dean Paras and co-stars Neve Campbell and Rebecca Gayheart. Since his first feature, Nathan has gone on to score the Miramax film Hangman's Daughter (Directed by P.J. Pesce and Executive Produced by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriquez,) the independent film Red Dirt starring Karen Black, the critically acclaimed documentary entitled Beyond the Mat (Directed by Barry Blaustein and Executive Produced by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard) and has just completed work on Bill Pullman's directorial debut The Virginian.
