MIAMI BEACH FLORIDA - Sweet Tea Production, Inc. is very happy in announcing the completion of the rough-cut of "Red Dirt." The film is the first feature for writer/director Tag Purvis, whose short film "America the Beautiful" traveled to over forty festivals in ten countries and was sold internationally to Canal+ for Broadcast in three of their principal markets; France, Spain and Sweden.

Shot entirely in Purvis' Mississippi hometown, "Red Dirt" stars; Academy nominated actress Karen Black, playing the eccentric Aunt Summer, Walton Goggins, best known for his memorable performance as Robert Duvall's Louisiana sidekick in "The Apostle," Aleksa Palladino, Lo in "Manny and Lo," returning to the screen as a young woman blossoming into adulthood, and a newcomer to the independent film scene, Dan Montgomery, giving a tender performance in this, his first leading role.

The film is being edited by Nikko Tsiotsias who, after obtaining a bachelor's degree in film and television from the University of Miami, went on to work with Academy Award nominated editors such as Angelo Ross, A.C.E., Angelo Corrao, and David Finfer and has worked on high-profile films, including "Blood and Wine" and "Curdled." Tsiotsias has collaborated with Tag in the past, on the short film "Sweet and Sour."
